The BBC moved into this building on Oxford Road from their former headquarters at 33-35 Piccadilly.  It was built in 1974 by the BBC's chief architect R. A. Sparks.  The lifetime of this building is also limited because in 2009, out on the Salford Quays, Media City is in an advanced stage of construction.  When completed it will become the BBC's headquarters in Greater Manchester.
