Located close to the corner with High Street, Henry's Department Store offered a "cheaper" alternative to some of the other department stores in Manchester.  It features in this extract from a postcard that I would estimate being from the 1920s or 30s and I remember visiting it as a child in the 1950s.  Today it, and all of the buildings around it, are gone and the Arndale Shopping Centre occupies this site.
