Wood designed this house for a friend, H. C. D. Chorlton, a printer and member of the Northern Art Workers.  Archer says of it, "The plan is L-shaped with all the rooms having good orientation.  The massing, proportions and choice of material are all pleasing and produce a very harmonious and successful result.
